4 Reasons to Switch to Cruelty-Free Brands

Even though more brands are becoming cruelty-free, there are still over 115 million animals being used as test subjects for brands worldwide. In a 2013 statistic, there were roughly 67,000+ dogs and 24,000+ cats being used in the United States alone! What you, the consumers should know is that that there are plenty of cost-effective alternatives to using animals for testing, so any company still using animals in their practice is making a choice to do so.

If you still aren’t sold that the change is worth it, here are a few reasons you should make the switch to cruelty-free:

Reason #1: Animal testing is crueler than you think.

We’re not saying you should Google what’s really happening in animal testing, but if you truly don’t know the extent to which animals get used in experiments it might be worth some individual research. The cute little bunnies, kittens, dogs, mice, monkeys and other animals undergo unfathomable tactics and events and are forced to live in inhumane conditions. It’s so awful we’re tearing up just thinking about it. Next time you use a lipstick or lotion that isn’t certified cruelty-free, ask yourself if the life of one of those animals was worth it. We’ll guess it’s probably not.

Reason #2: There is better testing available.

Yes, companies using animal testing are doing so to ensure that the products and ingredients are safe for humans… BUT it’s 2018, people! There are alternatives that will give the same outcome without subjecting animals to testing. For instance, in vitro testing is a method that is gaining popularity and adoption in the last few years. Scientists are 3D generating human tissue to test their products. There are even computer models and culture cell tissue options. Science is a beautiful thing!

Reason #3: You have amazing cruelty-free brands to choose from.

As you know, we are 100% cruelty-free and on top of that, we won’t even partner with a company that chooses to test on animals. Luckily, we are not alone in this endeavor. Thousands of brands and companies across all industries have also taken a stand against animal testing. So there is no better time or reason to make a switch to using good for you and good for the planet products.

Reason #4: It’s straight-up better for you!

When you switch to cruelty-free products, you’re probably closing a door on some products that you have relied on for years. But in doing so, you’re opening yourself up to a new world of better-made products. Many brands who have adopted cruelty-free policies are also focused on using more natural ingredients… So if the product you are using is better for your body and it’s from a company that does not conduct animal testing, imagine how much better you’re going to feel each time you not only use the product but even make a purchase to support brands with morals? Talk about a win-win!

If your inner animal lover is crying out right now, luckily there are things you can do to help right away. The clear winner as the best way for you to make an impact is to switch over to using cruelty-free products. It doesn’t get more impactful than that! Taking action by making purchase decisions (which affects their bottom line) ensures they get the message that you’re saying “NO” to animal testing.

Our stance against animal testing:

“We love animals. And we feel it’s our innate responsibility as humans to protect, defend and nurture animals as much as we can. We, nor any of our partners, will ever conduct product testing of any kind on animals.”
